HISTORY OF THE FIRM
The firm was organized in June 1974, by Edmond A. Swad in Livonia, Michigan. Ed has been practicing public accounting since 1960, including a partnership in another firm before the organization of Swad & Company.
In November 1980, James W. Forkner was admitted to Swad & Company as a principal after being a staff member of our firm for six years. Prior to that, Jim was on the staff of a national public accounting firm.
Edmond A. Swad, Jr. was admitted to Swad & Company as a principal in January 1998. Ed has worked in public accounting since 1986, including several years with a national public accounting firm.
Gary M. Blanck was admitted to Swad & Company as a principal in 2006, which highlights his career with the firm since 1991.
We also have a professional staff of accountants with varying backgrounds and experience levels as support. Our firm maintains a position of dignity and responsibility in the business community.
